Harlan Guettermann has spent more than 35 years navigating the intricacies of the IRS, legal and financial arenas. His experience makes the difference.

1967-1975

Revenue Officer in the Collection Division of the IRS, including a two-year break for service in the Army. Revenue Officers are charged with collecting taxes and collecting past due tax returns.

1976 -1979

Estate Tax Attorney for the IRS. This was a legal position duties consisted of the examination of estate and gift tax returns.

1979-1984

Appeals Officer in the IRS Appeals Division. Primary duty was to resolve tax disputes that arose between taxpayers and the IRS and also involved cases docketed in the U.S. Tax Court.

1984-Present

Law practice devoted almost entirely to tax and bankruptcy matters. Bankruptcy cases involve Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases with special emphasis on tax-related bankruptcies. The tax practice consists of issues involving audits, collection, tax fraud, Offers in Compromise and Tax Court litigation.
